It was at Mayflower curling club, March 5th 2005. Beth was the photographer for the ECOTS bonspiel & Kevin was curling on the Wire Rope team. His team won D division and he won Beth's heart.
During the Saturday night soiree Kevin brought a drink to the camera toting Beth and said "good job with the pictures!" She thought he was a waiter as he had a tray of drinks in his hands. As the evening progressed, Beth took a seat at the edge of the dance floor to get some shots of the dancing partygoers when Kevin pulled up a chair and started to talk to her. Maybe he was being fuelled by liquid courage (insert shocked face here) or perhaps he was just feeling very confident, but Kevin made a bold move and asked her out on a date within about 10 minutes. She said yes to a coffee date which somehow turned into dinner, glow in the dark mini golf and then coffee. Something must have clicked because they scheduled a 2nd date for a few days later.
For the second date, Kevin picked her up at 8am on a Sunday and took her on a winter off-roading adventure (herein after known as the 13 hour date) that was to be the first taste of a discovered passion that would become a huge part of her life. That day Beth learned that outdoor winter activities could be fun (at least in a Jeep), their friend Len takes things Beth says way too literally sometimes, and that Kevin was the one for her!!
IAJTYWU!
And the rest - as they say - is history!
